A gerência da concessão não se fica apenas pela gestão comercial das espécies. Estamos sempre conscientes de que somos parte de um ecossistema muito delicado e constantemente conscientes do impacto de nossas operações e respeitamos o facto de que partilhamos a floresta.

Concession management does not stop just with the management of the commercial species. We are ever mindful that we are part of a very delicate ecosystem and constantly aware of the impact of our operations and respect the fact that we share the forest,

Perceber a floresta e tudo o que vive nela é crucial para a sua gestão. Trabalhar em conjunto com Meg Coates Palgave, co-autora de Tress of Southern Africa, a TCT Dalmann estabeleceu a herbarium em Catapu que é a casa para mais de 250 espécies de árvores encontradas na concessão. A identificação e gravação científica de capim e outras plantas é feita em conjunto com instituições acadêmicas e está bem avançado.

Understanding that the forest and everything that lives in it is crucial to its management. Working in conjugation with Meg Coates Palgave, co-author of Tress of Southern Africa, TCT Dalmann has established a herbarium at Catapu that houses over 250 samples of trees found on the concession. Identification and scientific recording of grasses and other plants in conjunction with academic institutions is well advanced.

Trees identified are recorded, and where possible herbarium and xylarium  samples are produced and photo records taken. This data is available on the web, visit TCT Dalmann's project at iNaturalist.
